Controllable generation capacity will be an indispensable factor for secure energy supply. Demand-responsive supply will also be the most important flexibility option in the energy system of the future.
The technology of generating electricity and heat from different gaseous fuels – such as different synthetic gases – requires expert know-how. vgbe offers access to its network of experts.
In this area, vgbe provides the communication platform for all questions concerning technology, operation and plant safety of power generation plants. All specialist areas are covered, such as gas turbine, combustion engine and the associated ancillary systems. The focus is on short-term and practice-oriented as well as long-term, strategically oriented topics.
Other aspects are inspections, conversions and retrofitting as well as new constructions and building of facilities guaranteeing grid stability.

Activities
The exchange of experience on technical issues relating to the generation of electricity and heat from gaseous fuels is a mainstay of the association’s activities. Within the framework of the exchange of experience in the vgbe committees, the current focus is on the amendment of the 13th BImSchV (Federal Immission Control Act). Other important activities are the development of vgbe-Standards, the analysis of damages and the organisation of operator meetings.
