Project at Enerjisa’s power plant in Tufanbeyli (Turkey)

The vgbe-energy has helped the team of the Tufanbeyli power plant in Turkey to solve a long-standing deposit problem on HP turbine blades. During a plant visit conducted at the end of March, the vgbe experts inspected the entire water-steam cycle and derived a hypothesis on site as to the cause of the difficulties in maintaining water quality. This hypothesis was verified – among other things – by analyzing the relevant samples in the vgbe laboratory in Essen in the course of the further project. In close cooperation with the local team, it was thus possible to quickly identify the cause of a serious design problem. “It’s a good feeling when you can help the customer efficiently and in a solution-oriented manner,” explains Dr. Christian Ullrich, Managing Director of vgbe energy service GmbH. “We are looking forward to a continuous successful collaboration with Turkish our partners.”

The Tufanbeyli lignite-fired power plant is located in the province of Adana in the southern part of Turkey. It has three fluidized bed-fired units, each with an output of 150 MW. Commissioned in 2016, the plant is operated by enerjisa, an energy company owned by Sabanci Holding and E.ON.
