vgbe pulse: The publication library for the energy sector | more

vgbe-standards, vgbe energy journal and the ICSC library under one digital roof

pulse – short for Publication Library Service – offers members of vgbe energy e. V. and all interested parties a central online platform for the digital vgbe regulations, the vgbe energy journal and other technical publications, including those from the International Centre for Sustainable Carbon (ICSC).

The vgbe-standards at your fingertip

The pulse document database brings together the complete range of vgbe standards, guidelines, information sheets and technical reports – including RDS-PP Reference Designation System for Power Plants and KKS Identification System for Power Stations. All documents are available to ordinary members of vgbe as a multi-user company version and are licensed as part of ongoing vgbe membership. The files are digitally watermarked, printable and can be used without a proprietary reader. Distribution within the member company, for example via central library services or databases, is expressly permitted.

Editor’s tip: As an additional feature, a mass download of the vgbe regulations has been implemented, enabling the efficient provision of entire document packages.

vgbe energy journal – making expertise accessible

The pulse platform is also regularly used by readers of the vgbe energy journal – and those who want to become readers. A total of around 350,000 employees from all member companies have access to the association’s specialist publication via pulse. All issues since 2010 are currently available. Further volumes are being added on an ongoing basis, also to secure the documented expertise.

vgbe pulse – for everyone who moves energy

In addition to the protected area for members, vgbe pulse also provides public access to free documents and selected standards.

Newly available in pulse are the comprehensive reports from the renowned International Centre for Sustainable Carbon, ICSC. From 1975 to 2025, the ICSC was regarded as a well-known and widely respected institution in the international energy industry, playing an important role in the Technology Collaboration Programme under the umbrella of the International Energy Agency (IEA). By incorporating technical, political and economic reports and analyses into the pulse platform, vgbe is making these publications publicly accessible even after the ICSC has ceased its active work. vgbe members may be particularly interested in the analyses of specific CO2 reduction and capture technologies, as well as market trends and opportunities for alternative raw material use in the application of coal.

vgbe pulse is a modern, networked knowledge platform – be energised, be inspired, be connected, be informed.
