vgbe Highlights 2024: Fresh perspectives, valuable insights

With our Highlights 2024, we once again invite you to explore the world of vgbe from a fresh, dynamic perspective. This year, we are introducing an innovative format: interviews with the heads of our Technical Competence Centers, our team leaders, and the Head of Technical Services offer direct and engaging insights into our work and the latest developments.

Of particular interest is the interview with Dr Georg Stamatelopoulos, Chairman of the vgbe Board and CEO of EnBW, and Dr Oliver Then, Executive Managing Director of vgbe. Together, they reflect on key developments of recent months, discuss current challenges, and provide an outlook on the association’s future priorities.

We want to showcase how our dedicated team has tackled the past year’s challenges with expertise and passion. Through collaboration and innovation, we continue to strengthen our community and make a vital contribution to the transformation of the energy system.

We are convinced that this new format brings the vgbe spirit to life.

Be connected, be informed, be inspired and enjoy the vgbe Highlights 2024!

Last year all of us were facing massive challenges. The Russian war of aggression on Ukraine, the associated procurement of new resources, staff and material shortages as well as logistical challenges are just some of the issues with significant impact on 2022. The operators have accepted these tasks and challenges and put their activities at the service of society and politics. vgbe energy e.V., as an operator association, has been supporting its members and partners in coping with these tasks.

With the second edition of our newly designed vgbe Highlights, we would like to present outstanding examples of our community work and put the spotlight on success stories. Together with the vgbe community, we are working vigorously on the transformation of our energy system and providing technology-open, fact-based input for the rapid implementation of the urgently needed energy transition in order to harmonise security of supply, climate compatibility and affordability.

After the association´s relaunch – according to the motto “Future meets tradition” – from VGB to vgbe was completed on the occasion of the 101-year anniversary of the association in September 2021, we also present the association’s activities of a previous year in a new look. With a new design, the highlights and particularly important aspects of the vgbe group’s activities are outlined in a more flexible and focused way, clearly showing what the vgbe community achieves through joint activities and approaches.

Reporting from each individual committee has been replaced in favour of more detailed success stories from the individual technical competence centres. Detailed information on committee work and individual projects can still be obtained from vgbe office.
