Working together on the future

Our cooperations

As an international technical association for electricity and heat generation, we work closely together with EURELECTRIC, the umbrella organisation of the European electricity industry. Within the scope of a Memorandum of Understanding between EURELECTRIC and vgbe, the vgbe expertise regarding questions of power and heat generation and related environmental protection and research topics will be integrated into the political/strategic work of EURELECTRIC.

In addition, contacts are maintained with the following organisations within the framework of an international network:

vgbe also represents the German nuclear power plant operators in WANO (World Association of Nuclear Operators). With our expert committees on nuclear power plant technology, operation and the nuclear fuel cycle, we are intensively involved in the worldwide exchange of experience and in the analysis of special incidents in nuclear power plants. For this purpose, we operate the ZMA (Central Reporting and Evaluation Centre) for recording, evaluating and forwarding incidents at nuclear power plants.

At national level, we work closely with the following associations:

In the field of standardisation and technical regulations, we work together with, among others:

We manage the ECOBA (European Coal Combustion Products Association) for the recycling and utilization of combustion residues from power plants.
