On 22 and 24 November, workshops took place under the auspices of the Indo-German Energy Forum<\/a> (IGEF). In both Kolkata and Delhi, more than 100 participants learned about the flexible operation of thermal power plants. Together with its partners Steag Energy Services<\/a> and Siemens Energy<\/a>, the vgbe presented the results of the various flexibility studies that have been carried out in recent years.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The venue Kolkata was chosen because two of the three power plants that were in the focus of the investigations are in the vicinity of this city. Teams from the power plants Andal (operator Damodar Valley Corporation) and Maithon (operator Tata Power) presented their experiences in flexible power plant operation. In both events, the Chairman of the Central Electricity Authority inaugurated the event. In his welcome speech, he pointed out that operation with a load of up to 55% should become obligatory in the near future \u2013 in a few years even 40% is the envisaged target for technical minimum load.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The workshops were organized by the Indian vgbe partner organization EEC<\/a> (Excellence Enhancement Center), the Deutschen Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ<\/a>) and the vgbe.
