The EU HORIZON research project \u2018ReHydro: Demonstration of Sustainable Hydropower Refurbishment\u2019<\/a> was officially launched last May with a large kick-off meeting in Brussels.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Representatives of all 22 partners presented their companies, shared initial strategies and used the two-day event to network, form project teams and concretise joint plans. In the middle of it all and leader of the working package Dissemination, Exploitation and Communication (DEC): vgbe. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

A few months later, ReHydro is in full swing, and of course vgbe has been involved right from the start. As leaders of the DEC work package, it is our job not only to maintain communication among the project partners, but above all to inform our target groups about each of our steps and successes, from academics and young professionals to companies and hydropower plant operators. To reach everyone, our DEC Masterplan (will be published in November) includes a number of planned communication and dissemination measures and channels, some of which we have already implemented – most recently the creation of a LinkedIn profile<\/a> and the launch the designated ReHydro website<\/a>! <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The website is an essential step in the implementation of a comprehensive communication and dissemination concept and acts as the information hub for ReHydro. Visitors can inform themselves extensively about every activity of ReHydro: The website explains the background and objectives of the project, introduces project partners and collaborations with other research projects, and provides an overview of the demonstration sites, which are available for research purposes and will be used to showcase ReHydro’s results in the future. Over the next four years, the project and website will grow together. Areas for news articles, publications, videos and other results have already been set up and will be filled with content over the course of the project. <\/p>\n

ReHydro is a research project funded by the HORIZON EUROPE Programme of the European Commission. Its aim is to demonstrate how European hydropower can be refurbished and modernized to play a leading role in the future power system, while adhering to sustainability requirements and societal needs in the context of climate change. By implementing a suite of monitoring and digital tools (performance, cavitation, machine health) at demonstration sites, ReHydro aims to improve hydropower efficiency. Innovative concepts such as retrofitting with pumped hydro and hybridization will prepare hydropower for future markets. Furthermore, ReHydro\u2019s exploitable results are expected to create 700-1,150 new jobs in the manufacturing industry, leading to an increase of 275 mil Euros in the global market. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
