They balance fluctuations in the grid by storing surplus energy from renewable sources and feeding it back into the grid when needed. The committee promotes exchange on topics such as safety, quality, grid integration and operation of BESS installations. It provides a platform for harmonising and developing standards as well as jointly advancing innovation in the field of energy storage. <\/p><p>The committee\u2019s key areas of focus include safety and compliance, quality assurance, grid connection and system integration, as well as engineering and project development. Further priorities include operation and maintenance, along with strategic and market-related aspects such as hybrid power plants, black-start capability and new storage technologies beyond lithium-ion. <\/p><p>For information about participation or contributing to the committee\u2019s work, please contact Dipl.-Ing.
